The Glory of Nature by C.S. Lewis

“Nature never taught me that there exists a God of glory and of infinite majesty.
I had to learn that in other ways.
But nature gave the word glory a meaning for me.
I still do not know where else I could have found one.”  C.S. Lewis

Choosing to Be a Hummingbird, Not a Vulture

Yesterday, our pastor reminded us of the hummingbird and vulture comparison. As a new week begins, I’m flying over what is past, old, dead and ugly (representing the vulture). I choose to seek out what is sweet, thriving, alive and beautiful (representing the hummingbird). “You will find what you’re looking for.” The hummingbird looks for what is good.

[This is not my pastor or church, but he offers a succinct explanation of the hummingbird and vulture comparison – 1 minute 57 seconds]:
